Universal Appliance
Why do homes have appliances that need to be moved around, independent of each other? Is there such thing as a home that does not need a fridge or stove? No. So, they should be built into the home itself. Liners, pumps, and electronics should be easily interchangeable.
Most importantly, by plumbing the heat exhaust of a fridge into a hot water tank, or, having your dryer vent hot air through a Heat Recovery Ventilation (HRV) system, you spend less on energy too. Having appliances designed to last 30 years, instead of 10, also makes it feasible to insulate them more.
